Two Past Week Highlight's

Sometime we all have days that we can claim they are the highlight of the week and we had two this week. The first one was on Wednesday when Greg flew into an airport nearby for a few hours and we could go and meet him and then go for a Mexican lunch. This is the plane that he gets to fly. Too bad it doesn't belong to him and we could all take advantage of the good life but we are glad for his company that needs a good pilot to fly one of their guy's to make a luncheon speech in our area.

For the second highlight there is no picture because I forgot to take my camera. It was Saturday work day at Mt. Peak Convention. Weather was great and lots of work got done, however, we never noticed that we were working because we were having such fun visiting and laughing the time away. It is so cute to watch all the little kids enjoying there time and trying to work just like all the grownups. Little girls with wet rags in their hands scrubbing everything in sight and beaming from ear to ear when they are told they are doing such a good job. It just brought back such wonderful memories of all my life having Convention Preps and Convention the highlight of not only my day and week but even the highlight of my year. I loved it then and I still love and look forward to these days after many years.

More Birthday's

Sophie, our little "adopted grandaughter" who comes to our meeting, turned three last Saturday and we took this picture of her on Sunday after meeting. She loves our ceramic puppy and so she requested to have her picture taken with it.

Tommy's sister, Eileen, came to Dallas a week ago to get away from Hurricane Ike. She was still here on her Birthday so we got to celebrate with her on Thursday night before Gary and Debbie took her back home on Friday. This is a great restaurant to celebrate your Birthday at because it doesn't matter what your age really is, you are always 21 at this place. Since it was an Italian place, perhaps that is an Italian tradition. Sounds like a great idea to me.

This is all who got to enjoy her "25th" with her. From the left to right is Gary, Debbie, Cheryl, Kyle holding Clara, Eileen, Lloyd, Tammy, Tommy and I. Was the first time we were all able to be with her on her Birthday so was special. And for her Birthday, Ike respected her 25 years and left her alone without any dammage. Thank's Ike.

Georgia Trip

On Thursday the the 4th we went to Greg's. Since Tammy works at Southwest Airlines, we get to fly standby free. However, the main problem is that Southwest does not fly into Atlanta, and the closest we can get to Greg is Birmingham, which is about 2 1/2 hours away. So we rented a car, but that is still much, much cheaper than flying full fare. On Friday night Tammy and Cameron flew SW to Birmingham and spent the night, because it was to late to get on the road but came on in Saturday morning. What a great time we had. Tammy and Cameron came back to Dallas on Monday and we returned on Tuesday. (Click on pictures to enlarge.)

Sunday Morning and ready for meeting.

Frisby anyone.

This makes a pretty nice hat.

My turn.

Checking out a spider and his web.

This Frisby playing is absolutely hilarious.

Chloe dressed her brother up and I am not sure exactly what he is but he sure got a ton of laughs. I think he is supposed to be a princess or something like that.

I especially liked the turban.

The 3 grand's lounging on a huge pile of stuffed animals.

Garrett enjoying his drink at the airport restaurant. We got 2 fried shrimp appetizer's and he ate most of it so he just ordered another one for his dinner and he ate all that to.

Cameron trying to figure out what he is going to order. Notice the cool crooked cap.

Pretty Chloe.

Birthday Celebrations

While we were in Georgia, we celebrated 3 Birthdays. Cameron's was on the 8th, the last day we all were at Greg's. Tammy's will be on the 14th and Greg's on the 17th. On Saturday night, Tommy took us all to a nice restaurant on the runway of one of the small airports near by. Delicious steak's and interesting view. This was mostly for Tammy and Greg's Birthday. On Sun evening we had a family Birthday party for Cameron who was turning 16 the next day. His main wish was to get his drivers license. He and Tammy flew back to Dallas on Monday noon so he was able to accomplish his dream.

What a handsome 16 year old.

With his cousin.

With his favorite girl, Hanna Montana. Aunt Laura got her for him.

A cool shirt.

And a cool T-Shirt. Anything American Eagle has to be cool.

Happy Birthday dear Cameron.

Happy Birthday Greg.

Happy Birthday Tammy.

Very good cake, Cameron.

Labor Day

We hope none of you are guilty of being exhausted on Labor Day. We labored on Saturday working in the yard, doing some plumbing in the house, cleaning for Meeting Sunday and cooking for Pot Luck. Saturday night we were truly exhausted, but today absolutely nothing is happening at our house. The highlight of our day so far has been lunch at the new CheeseCake Factory in Allen. Yum it was good. I did just finish my 20 minutes on the treadmill, the extent of any exercise today. As I mentioned, we had Pot Luck here after meeting to tell Sonia B. goodby as she is moving to South Carolina on Wednesday. Sonia is from SriLanka and professed 1 1/2 years ago. She has a very bubbly personality and we will miss her constant bubbling and smiling. She is a professional cook and got a job helping to start up a new restaurant in Greenville where her daughter lives. Good luck Sonia on your new job.

The following picture was taken of our meeting in the Spring. Sonia is the third from the left. Charlie, Marcie and Sophia were on vacation and again they missed this Pot Luck because they are on vacation. Other wise everyone else in our meeting is in the picture. (Double click on picture to enlarge.)

This picture, taken last month, is our two cute girls and only kids in our meeting, Sophia and Kinsey. I do not have to tell you that they get lots of attention from the rest of us.
