This was on Friday afternoon just before serving dinner. Of course, we had billions of flies to join us for every meal. Everyone seemed to have a suggestion for the perfect way to get rid of them but I will have to report none of them worked.
Lots of chatter going on in every corner of the place. The lady in the foreground is Aunt Lilla Mae, and she was married to Uncle Billy, dad's brother. She was the only living relative of that generation to attend. Beside her there is Uncle JE who was not able to come.
After dinner there was a jump rope and hula hoop contest for the kids. Bryce won the jump rope contest and this is Dylan winning the hula hoop contest. Sheila has some pretty athletic boys on her hands.
Each family wrote history and memories of their parents and read it and then Brenda copied all the pages and clipped them together for all to keep. Very interesting and we learned something new about all our relatives.
Here I am reading the one Sandra, Cathy and I wrote about our parents, Rex and Odessa.
Renita read Tammy and Greg's paper about us as they were not able to attend.
Teresa read their paper on Sandra and Dickie and she made her sisters stand up with her.
David and his boys grilled hamburgers Friday night and Saturday noon grilled brisket, sausage and ribs and they were some of the best I have ate. They have grilling down to a fine science
After lunch on Saturday Brenda had an extreemly funny project for us. Each person had brought some article of clothing or accessory to the reunion and then we divided up into 4 groups and dressed up one "dummy" in each group and we were to vote on the funniest. However, all four were so funny we just declared each one of them a winner. Yes, that is my husband in the yellow dress!!! Later he said "how did it happen that there were more girls than guys in each group and yet all guys were chosen. So I said, "Think about it, we were ask to choose one dummy from each group." Discussion closed!!

Back row Left to Right-Bonnie, Uncle JE's daughter, Bertha, Aunt Myrtice's daughter, Jack, Aunt Vera's son, and his daughter Malinda and wife Donna on front left row. Front row right Don, Uncle Henry's son and wife Linda behind him.
This is the first cousins. Back row left to right-Clinton, Connie, Larry. Bonnie, Bertha, Jack, Me, Steve. Front row-Brenda, Sandra, Don
Three grandchildren of Aunt Bessie. Dana, wife of Ivan, Ivan, Glenda, LaNell.
Bonnie and I are 2 1/2 years apart and have always been very close. She came the week before the reunion and spent the week with me. We had a great time and it was a wonder we could even still talk at the reunion because we had really been exercising our vocal cords all week. Bertha and LaNell came home with us on Saturday afternoon and stayed until after meeting Sunday and then were on their way to various places. That was extra special to be with them a little longer and visit a little more.
