Catching Up

Blogger has changed its way of moving pictures around and I cannot figure out their system nor do I have the time and patience to keep fooling with it, so these 3 events are out of sequence and order that I wanted, but best I can do today. If any of you have figured out their system and can give me some simple instructions of how to move the pictures once they have been uploaded on my post, please let me know.

Last Wed, Greg and his family had a layover in Dallas on their way home from a New Mexico vacation. Tammy got them and we all met at a Mexican Restaurant near the airport for lunch. A short but sweet visit. Laura took a cute picture of Tommy and I with Chloe but they are on her camera, so I will have her send it to me and then I can post it.

This is the iPhone addicts.

A happy Greg and Laura to have some GOOD Tex Mex food.

One of Auntie's biggest fans.

The last week of July, Tommy had to go to Fayetteville, Ark on business and I went along on vacation. The perk of being married to the salesman. We stayed at a small hotel that had interesting history and also very nice. It was called Inn at the Mill and the mill part was built in 1835 and then after being many other things over the years was turned into a hotel in the 90's. When we first drove up, I was not sure that it would meet up with our expectation's because the outside has been kept to its old rustic appearance but the grounds and rooms were extremely nice. The rooms looked like a new hotel with the latest updated stuff. So it turned out to be perfect and a very pleasant and fun experience. If you are ever in that area, we highly recommend it. The drive from Dallas was very pretty.

A month or so ago Tammy used my car for a couple of days while hers was in the shop, and when we went to pick it up this is what we found where the car was parked. She had gotten Employee of the Quarter (2ND). So along with some extra cash, and other perks, she got a reserved front door parking place for 3 months. But she says now everybody expects her to perform miracles. Congratulations Tammy, we also think you deserve the best.

Lots of celebrating fun starting next week so stay tuned. Hopefully it won't take so long to post them.

Georgia, May Visit

We spent several days the first of May with our Georgia kids. Yes, I know I am way behind on posting but maybe I will get caught up this week. Have the pictures in the computer, just don't have them on the blog. As usual, we had a great time

The 5 year old ipod user

A rousing Scrabble Game. Tommy and Laura are great competitors. The rest of us don't care weather we win or loose.

Garrett's game, and he does care weather he wins or not. The smile on his face is because he is beating Grandpa.

Yard landscaping. They moved bushes around and also planted some new ones. Garrett and Chloe loved the planting activity.

Chloe catching the school bus one morning. Grandpa was there with his iphone.

There is a neighborhood creek near the house and the kids love to go there. Since Dad is a fisherman, it doesn't take much pleading to get him to take them.

Garrett's back pack is part of him from morning till night. He is wearing it every where he goes.

April 1st Weekend

Last Tuesday we went to San Antonio and stayed at the Omni on the Riverwalk. Was a beautiful place and we enjoyed it very much. We ate at a Mexican place and a Seafood place, both on the Riverwalk and that makes for such a relaxing and peaceful meal. Left there right after lunch on Thursday and went to Houston and ate dinner out at a nice Mexican restaurant for Charles's Birthday. He is a April Fool's Baby but we don't count him as a April Fool's brother-in-law because we are very happy to have him in our family. We sat at the table for 2 and 1/2 hours and I am sure our waitress was very glad to see us leave. Maybe Tommy's tip reflected our overtime at that table.

Friday morning we took off for Eileen's and had a very nice weekend there. We did get to see some sun and some very heavy humidity. Ughhhhhhhh My clothes were just limp and hanging in the picture with me in it. Not only do my clothes not do well with high humidity but my lungs don't either. That is the bad part of summer for me. Love the sun and warmth but not the heavy air. Spring flowers are way ahead of ours in Dallas due to very cold winter this year.

The picture hanging over the table is a painting that Eileen painted for Tommy's Birthday. Isn't it beautiful. We both love it and think that it is perfect for this spot in our office/den.

I never got around to posting our trip the first weekend in March so will just add it on here. We went to Hyatt Lost Pines Resort just south of Austin. We enjoyed it but if you can't get a good deal, we think it is over priced. Kids would really enjoy it tho as there is so much for them to do.

Road leading from entrance to hotel area. Beautiful views.

Swimming area.

Our room was on the bottom right. Second set of windows. Overlooked the jogging trail and the Gradalupe River below. Tommy made good use of the trail.

Met Yolanda at Steve and Linda K's for Union Meeting and then went to eat at a Mexican Restaurant. Do you get the feeling that we always eat Mexican Food?? Well, you aren't far from wrong. May 1st weekend we are going to Greg's so prepare for grandkid pictures. However, I will report that when we go to Greg's it is not Mexican food we eat but Thai. They have the best there.

Happy Birthday, Tommy

Today was Tommy's Birthday. Saturday evening, Tammy, Lloyd,Cameron and Renita, Brooke, and Blaire came for Pizza to help him celebrate. We had a fun time as usual. (Cameron got here to late to get in the picture but soon enough to eat some Pizza.)

Apple Pie. His age is still a mystery as you can see in the following picture.

But whatever age, he stills seems to light up at getting candy.

His two special GREAT guests. He always reminds them that he is a Great Uncle.

Southern Sunshine

Sunshine is what we Southerners see the most often and not the snow and gloom that has plagued us this winter. We are promised 2 more days of sun and then back to clouds and rain. So we are certainly enjoying the bright and beautiful Texas Sunshine.

Rare and Spectacular

We ended up getting about a foot of heavy wet snow. Our neighbors have lost a few limbs. Here are a few pictures of the end result to add to the previous post.

SNOW AND MORE SNOW

OK Renita, lets see if I can beat you with pictures of the 2010 February BIG SNOW. It is absolutely beautiful and lasting so long. All day and is supposed to snow into the night. We have 5 to 6 inches, at least, now so this is definately news worthy in TEXAS. (Double Click on pictures for full effect.)
