25th Anniversary

Today Tammy and Lloyd celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Several have ask how does it feel to have children married for 25 years. The only word that comes to mind, besides proud, is old. Each time there is a milestone like this in our life, I ask myself, "How did this happen." And everytime I am reminded "year after year after year." Happy Anniversary and now you are ready to go for the Gold. Lloyd had a Birthday yesterday so Happy Birthday to you too.

Our Second Grader

Monday was Chloe's first day of school. She is a big second grader with a very heavy looking backpack. It must be full of school supplies or a very big lunch. Go girl and make the honor roll again.

Lake Guntersville, Alabama

Greg and family went with some of their friends to Lake Guntersville in Alabama last weekend. Here are some pictures they sent. Looks like they had a great time. In some of the pictures the subjects were so dark you couldn't tell who they were but thanks to picnik.com I was able to lighten them. A big thanks to Renita for putting me on to this. Chloe starts to school on Monday, so summer will be officially over for them this weekend. Enjoy your last days and send us first day of school pictures.

Celebrations

Today is our 46th Anniversary and Saturday was my 66th Birthday. Where have all the years gone? We are going tonight to Chamberlain's Steak House for dinner. On Saturday we met Tammy and family at Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant. We had fun but missed Cameron. He is having fun at the beach in Florida with his friend and family.

Last week we spent most of the week just west of Austin at the Barton Creek Resort for vacation, birthday and anniversary. Was in a beautiful setting in the hill country. Beautiful golf course which Tommy enjoyed one morning. Saw lots of deer roaming around on the hillside and sometime on the roads.

The hotel was surrounded by multi-million dollar homes. They were beautiful but we couldn't get a real close look at them because they were all in gated communities but we could look at them with the zoom on our camera. The first and second picture are the same house, one is just closer up. It is my favorite.

This is the one we could see out our Hotel window. Not a bad place either.

We enjoyed going to meeting Sunday at Dave and Anna's. They have a beautiful place on top of one of the hills not far from where we were. Stayed for Pot Luck. Was so nice to meet with several of our old friends. The Austin area is where I was raised so I always enjoy going back. It brings back lots of great memories.

Our Local Kid's

About 3 weeks ago we met Lindsay and Cameron for lunch and they told us all their exciting summer news from LaCrosse camp to all about the OU campus. They are such good kids and we are proud of them.

Here is Lindsay and her boyfriend, Ben. Ben is going to UT Austin this year and Lindsay will be at OU. Can you just imagine the rivalry between these two during Texas, OU weekend? Right now they both look pretty happy but we will see who is smiling then and who is not!!!!

Family Ramblings

Nothing is happening very exciting around here. Only very hot weather, of which I don't like. Tommy spent last week in San Francisco on business, at a Trade Show and Sales Meetings. I stayed home this time and did get a few things accomplished. I went with Renita and the girls on Friday night to watch Brooke play Volley Ball. Was fun and we got to clap alot for Brooke's good plays. Lindsay has decided on OU for college this year and is very excited. She has gone to OU today to take a test before starting school the end of August. Tammy and family are in the process of planning a few days vacation before Lindsay heads off to school. Chloe has a new pet, Sally, the hamster. She is so excited and it brings back allot of memories of hamster's, gerbil's, parakeet's and a few dogs around here when Greg and Tammy were kids. One of the benefits of being a Grandma and Grandpa is that they can choose to be pet free with no guilt. Nothing more to report, but maybe later on in the week we will at least have a picture of Sally to post. (smile)
