We have a neighbor who is always starving us with his BBQ smells using real wood. We have the large gas grill and is hard to get that good wood smokey flavor with it. One Saturday we went to Lowe's and bought us a small charcoal griller and we have put it to use this month. Really can't beat the burgers. For several years we have had a park bench in the area where this swinging glider is and I always enjoyed sitting out in the mornings or evenings. The wood started rotting so Tommy replaced it with this swing. We both have enjoyed it so much except for the serious heat and humidity days we have had quite a few of lately. Last night we were sitting out enjoying the sounds of birds, crickets and other evening creatures, when suddenly a possum appeared walking up and down some cross ties we have near the creek. He knew we were there but didn't seem to care and just kept looking for bugs to eat. Of course I didn't have my camera.
On Saturday afternoon before Fathers Day we went to Scott and Renita's for a cookout. Scott did a supper job on steaks, sausage and chicken and Renita fixed some delicious sides. We sure were glad they included us for this meal.
On Father's Day we met Tammy and family for a Fajita feast at La Hacienda Ranch. They have a Fajita Platter for 4 and the 6 of us eat till we are stuffed and then take some home. They are really good and a good value.
