Cameron's Graduation Party

Cameron finished High School last December and chose not to go through the graduation exercise in June so Tammy had a party for him the last of August. Mostly family that lived near by attended. She had it at 4 o'clock on a Saturday at Texas Land and Cattle, with several appetizers and cake. Was really nice and everyone enjoyed seeing each other for a visit. Cameron is now in Austin going to Austin Community College, taking basic college courses. Lindsay has also moved to Austin and is working in her chosen profession of a Esthetician, which is a skin care therapist. They both are really enjoying Austin and live in the same apartment complex right now. Recently we went to Austin on business and took them to dinner while there. Tammy flew down for dinner with us. Just one of the perks of working for Southwest. She has lots of jets at her disposal. :) Since I was raised in Austin, I have lots of great memories of living there and nice to think of 2 of our grandkids living there now.

Cousins, Renita's 2 girls and Sheila's 3 boys.

More cousin's, Kyle and family. Just found out they are having another one.

After the party we went to Tammy's for awhile and then after all the appetizers digested and a few hunger pains set in, we went to Fuzzy's Taco Shop to get refilled. The boy by Cameron is one of his school friends. Such a fun afternoon and evening.

Vacation in Utah

The second week of August we went to Park City, Utah for cooler weather, my birthday and our anniversary. It was a wonderful 5 days of escape from the average 105 to 110 Texas temperature's. (Click to enlarge pictures.)

The Canyon's was the area in Park City that our condo was in.

This picture was taken off our balcony on second floor. The area of where sunshine meets the shade is the ski run off the mountain in the winter. Now it is just a path but could sure visualize the winter beauty.

The living and dining room.

The kitchen opened up into the living room so was quite spacious feeling.

On my birthday we rode a gondola to the top of the mountian and ate lunch there.

Here we are in the outdoor cafe. For summer the cafe is outside and in the winter is inside.

This is what it looks like before opening and filling up with people.

Main Street of Park City. There is a free trolly that you can ride because the street is on the side of the hill. Easy walking down but hard going back up so the trolly makes it easier.

In 2002, Utah hosted the Winter Olympic's here at Park City. This was a very interesting place to tour. This is the only former US Olympic Park still in operation. The US Olympic team and also the Australian team train here all year long. There is no snow in the summer but the teams still need to train so improvisions have been make that training can go on. The teams train early in the morning and the park opens at 10 for the public to tour and even try their skills on the ski jumps into the Olympic Pool. In case you are wondering, we just watched.

This is the ski runs and jumps. Water flows on the runs and with their snow ski's on, they zoom down the runs and into the Olympic swimming pool. Notice the white bubbly water in the pool. Just before the skier jumps off the run, the water starts bubbling to give them a softer landing like the snow.

Skier about ready to jump and water beginning to bubble.

This is a Zip Line and yes we could have done this but no we didn't.

This is the luge track. It is not operational in the summer.

More ski runs. Not open most of the summer and when it is, it is only for the athlete's and again water is used.

Here we are on our anniversary eating ice cream for our afternoon snack on Main Street.

Here we are on our anniversary having our patio dinner on Main Street.

On Friday our flight left Salt Lake City in the late afternoon so we spent the day in SLC. We had lunch on the tenth floor of a building overlooking Mormon Square. That is the Mormon Temple outside the window.

This is the inside of the restaurant. Tommy with his back to the camera.

This is the Mormon Conference Center. This place is huge and on the roof of the building is an outdoor garden. You can see some trees on the roof. Three waterfalls are flowing from the top of the building.

This trip was probably one of the most enjoyable trips we have ever taken. If you want to see more pictures, we have about 100 more!! Just tried to pick out a few of the most memorable ones.

Family in Georgia

The last weekend in July, Tammy and us went to Greg's and as usual we had a great time with them and the kids. The first place we hit after arriving was our favorite Thai place.

One morning the kids wanted to bowl.

Papa helping Garrett. Notice the head leaning left hoping that will make the ball go left and get more pins.

Laura giving Tommy a Yoga lesson. He found our that this sissy stuff is actually hard.

Tickling and giggling.

At Ted Montana's Grill eating Bison Burgers.

Auntie and Nephew acting silly. Hopefully their faces won't freeze.

The whole gang.

Our cute kids.

At the neighborhood swimming pool zooming down the slide.

While we were there the kids had Meet and Greet the teacher day to find our who their teacher is for the year so we got to go with them.

Garrett and his 1st grade teacher. Garrett is going into first grade already reading very well. He and Chloe play alot of school with Chloe being the teacher and Garrett being the student so she gets alot of credit for Garrett already reading so well. Laura is on the PTA board and helps out alot at the school so think she had alot of pull for the kids getting the best teachers.

Chloe and her 5th grade teacher.

Our Family's in July

Greg and family went to the beach in Alabama and had some beach pictures made. Thought I would share one with you.

One Saturday Tammy had us and the kids over for dinner and a delicious Mexican Casserole.
